Conduktor is a native desktop client to manage your Apache Kafka clusters. It works on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Conduktor can be used to manage the Kafka’s extensions as well like Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry etc.
1. Getting started with Conduktor
To get started with Conduktor, just download the installer and you can get started.
Before you launch Conduktor, make sure to have a Zookeeper and Kafka broker running.
After signing up, you should be able to see the stats of the Kafka brokers.
2. Getting started with messages
To get started with monitoring messages in Kafka, you can create a topic and produce a message into it.
You can create a topic directly from Conduktor.
You can then run a consumer which would subscribe to the topic and show the messages.
3. Broker configuration
Conduktor provides a detailed overview of broker configuration some of which can be edited on the go.
Like producers and consumers, you can also manage the Kafka Schema Registry, Kafka Connect and ksqlDB.
Overall, Conduktor provides a great native application to manage your Kafka cluster. You can also check out Confluent Control Center which provides a similar UI for managing Kafka clusters.
So, that’s it for this article. Thank you for reading and happy streaming with Kafka.
